Getting to Know the Controls

The in-line control bar sits on your right side when you wear the OontZ Angle 3 BudZ. It houses the multi-function buttons, the LED indicator light, the built-in microphone for phone calls, and a rubber flap that covers the Micro USB charging port.

The multi-function buttons handle the following:

  • Volume Up: press to increase volume
  • Volume Down: press to decrease volume
  • Play/Pause: press and release to pause or play
  • Track Forward: press and hold for 2 seconds to skip to the next track
  • Track Back: press and hold for 2 seconds to return to the beginning of the track; press and hold again for 2 seconds to go to the previous track
  • Power On / Off: press and hold the power button for 2 seconds

Phone Call Controls

  • Answer an incoming call or end a call: press and release
  • Reject an incoming call, or transfer a call between the headphones and your smartphone: press and hold for 2 seconds
  • Redial the last number called: press and release twice
  • Mute a call: press and hold for 2 seconds

LED Light Indicators

Blue light is lit when the headphones are on:

  • Flashing blue: the headphones are in Bluetooth pairing mode
  • Flashing blue 3 times every 5 seconds: the headphones are connected

Red light is lit when the headphones are charging:

  • Slowly flashing red: battery is charging
  • Solid red: battery is fully charged
  • Rapidly flashing red: battery charge is low

The red light flashes rapidly twice when the headphones are powered off.

Charging the Battery

The rechargeable battery comes with a partial charge, so the headphones are ready to play out of the box. For maximum playtime, fully charge the battery.

  • Pull the rubber flap gently from the top to access the Micro USB charging port; it is a snug fit as part of the waterproofing.
  • Insert the small end of the Micro USB charging cable into the charging port.
  • Insert the larger end into a UL-listed USB wall charger (5V 1A up to 5V 2.4A maximum) or a USB port on your laptop or computer.

Using a non UL-listed charger, or one supplying more than 5V 2.4A, could damage the headphones. When the headphones are on and not charging, the red light flashes rapidly when the battery has about 10% charge remaining.

Power Saving: the headphones turn off 15 minutes after being disconnected from your device.

Turning On & Pairing Your Device

Power on by pressing and holding the power button for 2 seconds. A flashing blue light means the headphones are ready to pair; blue flashing 3 times every 5 seconds means a device is connected.

To pair:

  • On your phone, tablet, or computer, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is on.
  • Select 'OontZ Angle 3 BudZ' when it appears under your device list.
  • Your device connects in a few seconds and the blue light flashes 3 times every 5 seconds.

The headphones connect to one device at a time and automatically reconnect to the last paired device when turned on within range. To switch devices, press and hold the volume up and volume down buttons for 3 seconds to disconnect; the blue light flashes and the headphones are ready to pair with the next device.

Comfort Fit & Selecting the Best Tips

The Iso-Fit Cushions provide a comfortable, secure fit, ideal for sports and physical activity. They come pre-installed; to re-fit one, slide the cushion over the earbud shaft and match up the guide holes for the correct left and right earbud.

For the best sound and bass, choose the largest in-ear BudZ tips that remain comfortable. Start with the medium (M) size; if they do not feel secure, try large (L) or X-Large (XL), and if they are too tight, try small (S). Wear the BudZ under-ear so the Iso-Fit Cushion sits snugly in your ear.

IPX7 Waterproof

The OontZ Angle 3 BudZ are IPX7 certified waterproof. They can handle sweat, water spray, and splashes, and can be partially or fully submerged in water up to 3 feet deep for up to 30 minutes. Do not keep them in a wet environment for an extended period of time.

The rubber flap must be closed to keep the headphones waterproof; they are not water-resistant when the flap is open.

Important: when the BudZ are connected to a charging source with the Micro USB cable, keep them away from the shower, bath, or water to prevent the risk of electric shock.

Safety & Precautions

  • Avoid listening at excessive volume levels or for prolonged periods, and do not use near traffic.
  • Never use the headphones in the shower, bath, or near water while they are plugged in to a charging source.
  • Protect the Micro USB charging cable from being pinched, particularly at the connectors.
  • Unplug the charging cable during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
  • Keep the headphones away from heat sources and naked flames, and do not expose them to excessive heat or direct sunlight.
  • The battery is not replaceable; do not attempt to change it, and refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • If the battery leaks, avoid contact with skin and eyes and seek medical advice if contact occurs.

Frequently Asked Questions

My OontZ Angle 3 BudZ will not power on. What should I do?

The battery may be fully drained. Charge it using the Micro USB charging cable connected to a USB wall charger or a USB port on your computer, then try again.

How long does a full charge last?

Up to 8 hours of music play time on a full charge at 2/3 volume. Louder volumes will reduce playtime. A full charge takes up to 2 to 3 hours.

Are these earbuds waterproof?

Yes. They are IPX7 certified and can be submerged up to 3 feet deep for up to 30 minutes, as long as the rubber charging-port flap is closed. They are not waterproof while the flap is open.

I'm having trouble pairing with my mobile device. What can I try?

Make sure you are within 30 unobstructed feet, the battery is sufficiently charged, and the LED is flashing blue rapidly (not 3 times every 5 seconds, which means it is already connected to another device). If problems persist, remove or 'forget' the BudZ from your device's Bluetooth list, restart the device, then pair again.

Can I connect the BudZ to two devices at once?

No. The OontZ Angle 3 BudZ connect to one device at a time. To switch, press and hold the volume up and volume down buttons for 3 seconds to disconnect, then pair the new device.

There is no audio coming from my device. How do I fix it?

Make sure the volume is up on both the BudZ and your device and that audio is actually playing. Move within 30 feet, turn the BudZ off and back on, or remove and re-pair them from your device's Bluetooth list.

The sound quality is poor. What should I check?

Move closer to your device (within 30 unobstructed feet), select Stereo if your device offers a Stereo/Mono option, try another track or app, or turn the BudZ off and back on. Re-pairing can also help.

The BudZ won't stay in place. What can I do?

Try one size larger in-ear tips, make sure the Iso-Fit Cushions are in place, and confirm each earbud is being worn on the correct left or right side.
