Charging the Case & Earbuds
The BudZ ship inside the charging case with a partial charge and are ready to play. For maximum playtime, fully charge the case with both BudZ inside.
To charge the case:
- Insert the small end of the USB Type-C cable into the case's charging connector.
- Insert the larger end into a UL-listed USB wall charger (5V 1A minimum).
- White charging indicator: solid white means the case is charging; the white light turning off while plugged in means the case is fully charged.
To charge the BudZ:
- Place both BudZ in the case, Left in the left side and Right in the right side.
- A solid red light means the BudZ are charging; the red light turning off means they are fully charged.
When fully charged, the case provides up to 3 additional full charges of the BudZ.
Battery Features
- BudZ play time: up to 3 hours on a full charge at 2/3 volume. Louder volumes reduce playtime.
- Charging time: up to 1 hour to fully charge low BudZ, and up to 2 hours to fully charge a low case battery.
- Low charge: when BudZ charge drops below 20%, the red light flashes rapidly and a voice prompt announces low battery.
- Power saving: the BudZ turn off 5 minutes after being disconnected from your device.
Turning On & Off
Turn ON: remove both the Left and Right BudZ from the case and they turn on automatically. If they are already out of the case, press and hold the multi-function button on the Right BudZ for 3 seconds, then on the Left BudZ for 3 seconds. The BudZ connect to each other, with a voice prompt of 'Right Channel' in the Right BudZ and 'Left Channel' in the Left BudZ.
For the BudZ to connect and stay connected to each other, they must be within 3 feet of one another.
Turn OFF: place both BudZ in the case and they turn off automatically. To turn them off outside the case, press and hold the multi-function button on the Right BudZ for 3 seconds; a 'Power Off' voice prompt plays in both BudZ.
Pairing Your Device
Turn on the BudZ. A flashing blue light means they are ready to pair; blue flashing once every 5 seconds means a device is connected and ready to play.
To pair:
- On your phone, tablet, or computer, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is on.
- Select 'OontZ TW BudZ xxx' under Devices (xxx are 3 characters unique to your BudZ).
- Your device connects in a few seconds and the blue light flashes once every 5 seconds.
The BudZ connect to one device at a time and automatically reconnect to the last paired device when turned on or removed from the case (within range). To switch devices, press and release the multi-function button on the Right BudZ 4 times to disconnect; the blue light flashes and the BudZ are ready to pair with a new device.

Selecting the Best Tips
A snug, comfortable fit provides the best sound and bass. Start with the medium (M) tips that come installed. If they do not feel secure, try the large (L) tips; if they are too tight, try the small (S) tips. The largest comfortable size gives the best overall sound. Slide a tip onto each BudZ shaft, then insert the Left and Right BudZ into your ear canals.
Music & Call Controls
Music controls (the volume is controlled on your device):
- Play/Pause: press and release the multi-function button on either BudZ.
- Track Back: press and release the multi-function button 2 times on the Left BudZ.
- Track Forward: press and release the multi-function button 2 times on the Right BudZ.
Some apps may not support track back, track forward, or play/pause.
Phone calls (works over Bluetooth with smartphones and iPhones only):
- Answer a call: press and release the multi-function button on either BudZ.
- Reject a call: press and hold the multi-function button for 1 second on either BudZ.
- Hang up a call: press and release the multi-function button on either BudZ during a connected call.
You can use your phone to switch between hands-free speakerphone and the phone itself.
Talk to Siri
This feature works when connected to an iPhone or iPad over Bluetooth.
- Press and release the multi-function button 3 times on either the Left or Right BudZ.
- Wait about two seconds until you hear a chime, then say what you need.
- Siri's response plays through the BudZ and may display information on your iPhone or iPad.
Your iPhone or iPad must be on the latest version of iOS.
IPX5 Water Resistant
The OontZ True Wireless BudZ are water-resistant and sweatproof, ideal for exercise, the beach, or the pool. IPX5 means they can handle sweat, water spray, and splashes, but cannot be partially or fully submerged or left in a wet environment for an extended period, which could cause unrepairable water damage.
Important: when the BudZ are charging in the case via the USB Type-C cable, keep the BudZ and case away from the shower, bath, or water to prevent the risk of electric shock.
Safety & Precautions
- Avoid listening at excessive volume levels or for prolonged periods, and do not use near traffic.
- Never use the BudZ or case in the shower, bath, or near water while the charging cable is plugged in to a power source.
- Protect the USB Type-C cable from being pinched, particularly at the connectors.
- Unplug the cable during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
- Keep the BudZ and case away from heat sources, naked flames, excessive heat, and direct sunlight.
- The battery is not replaceable; do not attempt to change it, and refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- If the battery leaks, avoid contact with skin and eyes and seek medical advice if contact occurs.

Can I take these in the shower or pool?
No. They are IPX5 water-resistant and sweatproof, so they handle sweat and splashes, but they cannot be submerged or used in the shower. Submersion can cause permanent water damage.
How do I control the volume?
Volume is controlled on your connected device, not on the BudZ. The BudZ buttons handle play/pause, track skip, calls, and Siri.
How do I use Siri with the BudZ?
