A USB power bank port can keep your iPhone/smartphone charged while playing or power an Echo Input (output 5V/1A).

Turning On & Off & Power

Connect the wall-plug end of the power adapter to a power outlet and insert the small end into the DC IN jack.

To turn on: press and release the Power button. The Source light turns blue, green, or red depending on the last setting.

To turn off: press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds; the Power light turns red.

Connecting to a TV with the Optical Cable

Connecting via the Digital Audio Optical Out is recommended.

  • Plug the longer end of the digital audio optical cable into the soundbar's Optical In connector.
  • Plug the shorter end into the Optical / Digital Audio Out on your TV.
  • Make sure both ends are fully inserted.
  • Press the Source button until the light is red; the speaker responds 'Optical In'.

If your TV has no Digital Audio Optical Out, use the 3.5mm audio connection instead.

Connecting to a TV with the 3.5mm / RCA Cable

  • Plug one end of the 3.5mm audio cable into the soundbar's AUX In connector.
  • Plug the other end into the Headphone or Audio-Out connector on your television.
  • If your TV has only Left/Right Analog Audio Out (RCA), use a 3.5mm-to-RCA cable (not included).
  • Make sure both ends are fully inserted.
  • Press the Source button until the light is green; the speaker responds 'Aux In Source'.

Connecting a Device via Bluetooth

Press the Source button until the light is blue. Flashing blue means it is ready to pair; solid blue means a device is connected.

On your device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and select 'OontZ Angle 3P SB xxx' (xxx is 3 characters unique to your speaker). A quiet chime confirms connection.

The soundbar connects to one Bluetooth device at a time and lets the last device reconnect automatically when in range. To switch devices, press and hold the Multi-Function button for 3 seconds to disconnect, then pair the new device.

Your device must be within 100 unobstructed feet. For Amazon Echo, first-time pairing uses the Alexa app; reconnect by pressing Source until blue and saying 'Alexa, connect my speaker'.

Using the OontZ Remote Control

First remove the insulation strip on the back of the remote, then pair it with the soundbar.

  • Plug in the soundbar but do not turn it on; the Power light should be red.
  • Press and hold the soundbar's Play/Pause button for more than two seconds until the Power light flashes (ready to pair).
  • Hold the remote within 3 feet of the soundbar and press and hold the remote's Bluetooth and Power buttons together for more than two seconds.
  • When paired, the soundbar's Source light flashes green 6 times.

Remote functions: Volume Up/Down (press or hold), Play/Pause or mute (depending on source), Source and Mode (press to change source; hold to switch Music/Movie Mode), Track Back/Forward (Bluetooth source), Power (hold 3 seconds), and Bluetooth (connect, disconnect, or enter/exit Surround Mode).

Warning: The remote contains a coin/button cell battery. If swallowed it can cause severe internal burns within 2 hours and lead to death. Keep batteries away from children and seek immediate medical attention if swallowed.

Dual Mode (Two Soundbars)

Connect two OontZ Angle 3 Pro Soundbar speakers for Left Channel - Right Channel, or Dual Stereo in separate areas.

Turn on both, connect one to your device to make it the Host. On the second speaker, press and release the Source button until it is flashing blue (disconnect it with the Multi-Function button if it shows solid blue).

On the Host, press and hold Play/Pause for 3 seconds until it flashes white and says 'Dual Pairing'. Both lights then turn solid white; the Host says 'Left Channel' and the second says 'Right Channel'.

To switch to Dual Stereo, press and hold Track Forward on the Host for 3 seconds until both say 'Dual Stereo'; press and hold Track Forward again to return to Left/Right Channel.

Use the Host for controls and source selection; these are disabled on the second speaker. To disconnect, press and hold Play/Pause on the Host for 3 seconds.

To play TV/video audio in sync, connect the Host to your TV using the 3.5mm or optical cable rather than Bluetooth to avoid delay.

Surround Mode (2, 3 or 4 Supported Speakers)

Connect the soundbar (Host/Master) with up to 3 other supported OontZ speakers. Connect the Host to your device via Bluetooth, 3.5mm, or optical cable.

Guest speakers must be unconnected with flashing blue lights (disconnect with the Multi-Function or Bluetooth button as applicable).

On the Host, press and release the Multi-Function button; the Play/Pause light turns solid orange and it says 'Surround Mode Transmit'. On each Guest, press and release the Multi-Function button; the light flashes orange ('Surround Mode Receive') then turns solid orange when connected.

Turning off the Host turns off all speakers. To disconnect a single Guest, press and release its Multi-Function button.

Note: Surround Mode is compatible only with the OontZ Angle 3 Ultra (4th Gen) and OontZ Angle 3 Pro (2nd Gen). It is not compatible with other OontZ speakers or previous generations.

The OontZ App

Download the OontZ app from the Apple App Store or Google Play to control advanced features.

  • EQ: select Movie or Music presets and fine-tune bass and treble
  • Volume Control: sync or independently control two soundbars in Dual Mode
  • Dual Mode and Surround Mode: connect, disconnect, and manage speakers
  • Audio Source: switch between AUX In, Optical In, and Bluetooth
  • Support: view the latest manual, update firmware, and contact support

To enable the app, turn on the soundbar, open the app, select Menu > Speakers, and tap the grey speaker icon. It turns blue and the Multi-Function light turns blue when enabled.

Firmware updates may take up to 30 minutes; avoid interrupting your phone during the update.

Safety & Precautions

When plugged in to power, never use the speaker in the shower, bath, or near water to prevent risk of electric shock.

  • Protect the power adapter cable from being pinched, particularly at the connectors.
  • Unplug the power adapter during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
  • Keep away from heat sources such as radiators, stoves, and amplifiers.
  • Do not make alterations; refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Use only the included power adapter, which meets local regulatory requirements.
  • Keep away from naked flame sources such as lighted candles, and do not expose to excessive heat.

Battery warning: The remote contains a coin/button cell battery. Keep new and used batteries away from children; if swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the best way to connect the soundbar to my TV?

Connecting via the Digital Audio Optical Out is recommended. Plug the optical cable between the soundbar's Optical In and your TV's Optical/Digital Audio Out, then press the Source button until the light is red. If your TV has no optical output, use the 3.5mm AUX connection instead.

My TV only has red and white (RCA) audio outputs. How do I connect it?

Use a 3.5mm-to-RCA cable (not included) from the soundbar's AUX In to your TV's Left/Right Analog Audio Out, then press the Source button until the light is green.

How do I pair the remote control with the soundbar?

Remove the insulation strip from the remote. Plug in the soundbar (do not turn it on) and press and hold its Play/Pause button for over two seconds until the Power light flashes. Hold the remote within 3 feet and press and hold the remote's Bluetooth and Power buttons together for over two seconds; the soundbar's Source light flashes green 6 times when paired.

How do I put the soundbar in Bluetooth pairing mode?

Press the Source button until the light is blue. Flashing blue means it is ready to pair. Select 'OontZ Angle 3P SB xxx' in your device's Bluetooth settings. If a device is already connected, press and hold the Multi-Function button for 3 seconds first to disconnect it.

How do I switch between Music and Movie sound modes?

Press and hold the Source button to switch between Music and Movie Mode, or select the mode in the OontZ app's EQ screen. The app also lets you fine-tune bass and treble.

Which OontZ speakers can I connect in Surround Mode?

Only the OontZ Angle 3 Pro Soundbar, OontZ Angle 3 Ultra (4th Gen), and OontZ Angle 3 Pro (2nd Gen) are supported. Other OontZ models and previous generations are not compatible.

How do I avoid audio delay when watching TV with two soundbars?

Connect the Host speaker to your TV using the 3.5mm or optical cable instead of Bluetooth, so the audio stays in sync with the video. A Bluetooth connection introduces a playback delay.

Is the soundbar waterproof?

No. The soundbar is an indoor TV speaker. When it is plugged in to power, never use it in the shower, bath, or near water to prevent risk of electric shock.

How do I connect a different audio source?

Press the Source button to cycle between AUX In (green light, 'Aux In Source'), Optical In (red light, 'Optical In'), and Bluetooth (blue light). You can also change the source in the OontZ app.
