OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA speakers need to have the same version of Firmware to connect together in OontZ Wireless Dual Stereo

    • If your speakers were purchased separately it is possible that they have different versions of firmware.   Both speakers need to have the same version of firmware or operate optimally in OontZ Wireless Dual Stereo Mode. To check the firmware version of your OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA follow the below steps

Step A : Power on your OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA

Step B : Insert the 3.5mm audio cable into the AUX IN Jack, the Bluetooth Light will turn green and you will hear the voice prompt: “AUX IN Source”

Note: In the following step, once the firmware confirmation begins, the lights on the OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA should illuminate in the following sequence:

    • Green light will be solid
    • Red light will flash x times, then
    • Orange light will flash y time, then
    • Green light will turn off
    • Blue light will flash z times
    • Green light will turn back on and remain solid

Be sure not to cover the lights while pressing the Bluetooth button or you will not be able to see the light sequence.

Step C :  To begin the confirmation, press and hold down the Bluetooth button for about 5 seconds until the red light begins flashing.    Release the Bluetooth button.    The red light will flash X times, then the orange light will flash Y time, the green light will turn off and then the blue light will flash Z times.  The green light will turn back on.   This light sequence confirms the Version X.Y.X.

    • If both speakers to do not have the same light sequence, please update both speakers to the most current version, available here

Two OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA speakers connected together are not in Dual Stereo

      • When connecting together two OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA speakers in OontZ Wireless Dual Stereo they will first connect together for Left Channel – Right Channel. To play in Dual Stereo, press and hold down the Track Forward Button on the Play Control Speaker for 5 seconds until the white light turns solid orange on both speakers.
      • To change back to Left Channel – Right Channel hold down the Track Forward Button on the Play Control Speaker for 5 seconds until the orange light turns solid white on both speakers

I have lip sync issues between the audio and video when connecting the OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA to my TV.

      • The standard Bluetooth protocol has inherit latency and when used to play audio from a video, lip sync issues may occur between the audio and video. If there is a sync issue between the audio and video, it is recommended to use a 3.5mm Audio Cable to connect the device playing the video to the Aux In on the OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA.
      • When using two OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA speakers with a video device in OontZ Wireless Dual Stereo mode, a 3.5mm Audio Cable should be used to connect the device playing the video to the Aux In on the OontZ speaker.  This speaker will be the 'Play Control Speaker'.  The second speaker is paired and connected with the 'Play Control Speaker'.  The latency is reduced between the two connected OontZ speakers because a proprietary wireless connection is used instead of standard Bluetooth.
      • To connect two OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA speakers in OontZ Wireless Dual Stereo, turn on both speakers.  Connect the first speaker, Play Control Speaker, to the video device with a 3.5mm Audio Cable. The second speaker needs to be in Bluetooth pairing mode. Hold down the Play/Pause button on the 'Play Control Speaker' for 5 seconds.  When the speakers are connected, the Play Control Speaker will announce Left Channel and the second speaker will announce Right Channel.    Refer to the instructions in the Quick Start Guide for detailed instructions.
      • You can also use the OontZ Bluetooth Adapter (Sold separately on www.theoontz.com), with its low latency technology, removes or eliminates the delay in the audio playback from the video and allows the audio to play in sync with the video when playing to one or two OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA speakers.

My TV or Bluetooth Transmitter will not pair with my OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA.

      • We have found Bluetooth from TV’s and Bluetooth transmitters often have compatibility problems.  We find that some don't work at all and others inconsistently.  In general, our finding has shown that the version of the Bluetooth transmitter is important for compatibility. Bluetooth 5.0 transmitters don't work as often as those that are classified as 4.2.  The Bluetooth 4.2 version of transmitters have a higher level of success in connecting with Bluetooth speakers with 4.2 Bluetooth chipsets.  The Bluetooth chips used in the transmitters are not as fully compliant as those used in smartphones for example, so sometimes there is an incompatibility in the protocols used between the transmitter and the speaker.  If you find another BT Transmitter that is specified with 4.2 Bluetooth technology, it might work better than those with 4.0 and below or 5.0 Bluetooth technology.
      • You can also use the OontZ Bluetooth Adapter (Sold separately on theoontz.com) designed specifically for the OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA. With its low latency technology, the OontZ Bluetooth Adapter removes or eliminates the delay in the audio playback from the video and allows the audio to play in sync with the video when playing to one or two OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA speakers.

Can I connect two different models of OontZ speakers together in OontZ Wireless Dual Stereo?

      • OontZ Wireless Dual Stereo is only supported with two of the same model OontZ Speakers. To connect two OontZ speakers together they must be two OontZ Angle 3 RainDance speakers, two OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA speakers, two OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA Pro speakers or two OontZ Angle 3XL ULTRA speakers.  One model of speaker can not be connected to different model of speaker.

Is there replaceable batteries for my OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA

      • Only the OontZ Angle 3XL and OontZ Angle 3XL ULTRA can have the battery replaced. All other OontZ speakers have an integrated battery and the battery is not accessible.
